I drove to a small oil company in Taft, CA and met a man named Russel who I had connected with a few weeks prior about my project and that I wanted unrefined crude oil from the earth. He thought I was crazy, but he was also intrigued and curious. We spent a few hours together, driving around the oil fields, collecting a few grades of oil, 2 gallons total. One was hot when I got it and it off gassed in my car making me feel pretty spacey.
